since our launch in 2018,

Who We Are and What We Do

We are a program created by ESTEEM Group Inc., a non-profit organization, to Empower Students Through Education, Engagement and Motion.  Our program is based in Western Pennsylvania and spans from PreK through College encompassing a diverse curriculum that meets students where they are and challenges them to grow and develop social emotional learning skills important to thrive in life.

We use music and movement with our students to:

  • Motivate them to become better teammates
  • Strengthen their social skills
  • Feel a sense of community
  • Heighten their self-esteem
  • Foster leadership
  • Learn how to communicate effectively
  • Use proper etiquette
  • Develop respect for themselves and others

Our program for PreK through Sixth Grade is based on the skills they should develop at this time in their lives.  We focus on self-control, feelings, decision making/problem solving, teamwork, and social skills.  Our curriculum adapts and changes to match the specific needs of the students in each individual classroom and throughout the grade levels.

Students in Grades 4, 5, and 6 can be taken through a different curriculum, which engages them through the teaching of ballroom dances from all over the world.  We focus our instruction around the students learning etiquette, social skills, teamwork, communication, self-esteem, respect, leadership, and a sense of community.  The dances and steps can change from classroom to classroom and year to year, in order to allow them to find success within the program and with one another. This curriculum may include, Salsa, Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Swing/Jive, Hustle, Foxtrot, Tango, Waltz and Quickstep.

Our curriculum was developed with the input of certified Yoga, Fitness and Ballroom instructors.  We took the essence of these life enhancing crafts and added elements of social emotional learning curriculum.  We continue to consult with these instructors to keep our curriculum up to date and fun for all.
